SARAH EXPOSITO
Sarah has been a member of Excel since 2015 and stepped up in 2017 to join our
coaching staff. She
received her B.S. in Speech-Language Pathology with a minor
in coaching prior to earning her M.S. in
Occupational Therapy from Hofstra
University. As a licensed occupational therapist, Sarah is passionate
about
empowering individuals to live their life to the fullest. Her focus areas of
interest include physical
disabilities including the hand, upper extremities, neurodegenerative disorders,
and pediatrics.
Sarah is currently working towards her aquatic therapeutic exercise specialty
certification.
Sarah began her swimming career training with the Long Island Aquatic Club and
completed 6 years of
varsity swimming for Massapequa High School. She also
participated in two summer training camps with
the international team and
coaches at Camp FLA in Florida. She went on to compete at the collegiate level
for SUNY Buffalo State where she set both individual and medley relay school
records. After college,
Sarah became a masters swimmer achieving Top Ten
National Age Group rankings in the individual
200 SC Meter Butterfly and 200 SC
Meter Freestyle Relay events.
During summers, Sarah trains open water and competes alongside her teammates in
local sprint triathlons.
She has over 14 years of experience as a swim lesson
instructor and is LG/CPR/AED certified. In addition to
swimming, Sarah enjoys
hiking, weight training, running, biking, and snowboarding.
She is a proud dog
mom to her pit bull Apollo and is obsessed with mermaids.
