Mike was a competitive age group, high school and college swimmer. At 25,
he began swimming with the Masters program at St. John's University, and
remained with them for three years. Now in his 40's, Mike has re-entered the
Masters Swimming world as both a swimmer and serving as one of our Excel
coaches. Mike's love and passion for swimming enables him to pass along his
personal experience and advice to others who share the same passion.

Michael competed in the 1987 and 1988 Empire State Games in swimming and in water
polo in 1990. He was captain of his high school swim team and competed for a club team
as well. Mike has been a New York State ocean lifeguard at Jones Beach since 1989.

Mike has a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering (BEME) from SUNY
Stony Brook and is a certified and IBM-trained computer technician. He has owned and
operated a successful on-site computer installation and repair business since October 2000.
In addition, Mike is also taking classes to become a Licensed New York State Home Inspector.

Mike has CPR, AED and First Aid certifications. His hobbies and interests
include swimming, roller skating, continuing education, muscle cars, family activities
and cooking. Michael is the proud father of Matthew, Logan and Melanie.
